At AART, we strongly believe that no place can heal you better than home. So after we rescue the animals we make sure that they get a home. Our last area of lookout is for cases of cruelty against animals. We receive about two to three such cases every week in Murshidabad. Such cases are not uncommon even with well-to-do households. Normally people buy these dogs, coming from a good pedigree but later they abandon these dogs as their maintenance consumes a lot of time and energy. We have to focus on the dog’s mental health after such episodes, as the abandonment leaves them traumatized. It becomes equally harder for the new family that adopts them. We carefully streamline these adoption processes, first keeping the dogs in foster care before rehabilitating them with a new family.
